The Power Of Testimony

All of us have experienced some type of illness or physical challenge. Many of us have or will face very difficult situations in life. The encouraging thing is that we all can go beyond those circumstances through the provision of Jesus Christ.

At LifeWay, we believe in the power of sharing what God has done in one life as an encouragement that He is willing and even desiring to to it again in others lives. The following are just a few examples of the powerful things God is doing and wants to continue for all of us.

Divine Interventions

A week of divine interventions helped remind us all of the provision of God.

On the home David is purchasing: Funds for the large earnest deposit usually take 3 weeks, were released to him in 24 hours.

A Good Lesson In Watching Our Confession:

As he prepared to go to work, walked out to his vehicle, and found the driver's side door WIDE OPEN. Prepared for the worst, but NOT confessing it, he found NOTHING missing. He really felt that there had been angelic or Divine Intervention.

David helps teachers to improve their methods and performance in the class room. He has one lady teacher that is pretty negative, and has a history of not being 'overly balanced emotionally', and his unexpected visit to her room one morning, 'set her off'. He told her in a note, " your aggressive speech and manner will fail to achieve your goals". He was able to remain calm, although it took the whole day to completely get over the verbal attack.

He called her the next morning (again prepared for the worst, but NOT confessing it) to set a time to plan a demonstration lesson. She was repentant and apologetic, and he told her that "it has already been forgiven." When they met, he 'plied' her with a 'fresh cup of his best coffee'. The time was very fruitful. What he was to realize, is that he has been operating in a Grace that he had never known before.

The 4th and lovely provision: He was following a car, and they BOTH were 'going a tad too fast'....an officer passed him up and pulled over the car. He knew that he could easily have been pulled over too. "God's loving kindness has lead to repentance in this matter, and although I am staying in the speed limit, I am still getting places on time, AND RELAXED. This gives me joy."

Yes! His faithfulness does give us JOY. May these good testimonies bring encouragement and expectations for your week also.

Answered Prayer

Faye's daughter needed a birth certificate, from another state, for her work by the end of the month or they would terminate her. It was needed for the renewing of her certification. Faye ordered it through the mail, and when they were concerned that it wasn't showing up, Faye remembered a testimony about being SPECIFIC when you pray. So as she prayed, she added that it was to arrive on Saturday. It faithfully arrived on that Saturday. She is giving praises to our glorious God!

Hips & Bulging Disk Healed

Nick, a 16 year old male, had grown so rapidly when he was 14 that his hips became out of alignment due to the muscles in his back, butt, and legs growing at difffering rates. This problem caused Nick to be in constant pain requiring him to take large quantities of ibuprofen to sleep at night. However, the ibuprofen disrupted his digestive track to the extent he was having to use the bathroom frequently thus making sleep at night almost impossible. To make matter worse, during a recent soccer match he was injured causing one of the disks in his back to bulge to the extent the doctors told him that if he injured the disk further they would have to remove it and fuse the vertibrae. They said he would need weeks, if not months, of rehab and therapy in order allow the disk to heal and his hips to come into alignment.

After hearing this story and receiving permission from Nick and his mother, a team from LifeWay met with Nick to pray for his healing. Nick had never experienced anything like this before. After sharing God's desire to see all people healed Nick was asked to demonstrate the extent of his injury and lack of flexibility. He sat down and began to rotate his waist to the left and right demonstrating he could only move about 20 degrees in either direction. He then tried to touch his toes and could only manage to touch his legs just below the knees. The team began to pray for Nick asking God's healing power to bring his body back into alignment, heal the disk, and stretch all muscles to bring balance back into his body. Nick felt the heat of God moving throughout his body which he thought was "a little weird." We then asked him to sit back on the floor and test his back again. When he began rotating his hips he was now able to rotate beyond 90 degrees in both directions!! He was visibly shocked. He then tried to touch his toes ... which he did!! Amazed he said, "I don't feel any pain anywhere!" We asked him to get up and walk. When he did he said, "For the past 1 1/2 years I've been walking like a duck because my hips have been out of balance but now I'm not walking like a duck! I don't have any pain, anywhere!" He continued to stretch his back in various ways, testing his healing. With every stretch he confirmed God's goodness to us, and to himself. Thank you, Lord!

Osteoperosis Healed

The Sunday following Nick's healing I shared the testimony of his healing. After the message, during ministry time, a young 14 year old girl was visiting and came up for prayer. She said she heard the testimony and asked if we would pray for her hips. She said was a volleyball player for her school and that the pain of playing was becoming to much. When she went to her doctor he diagnosed her with accute osteoperosis in her hips which caused her pain when she jumped or when she ran. She had never been prayed for before but believed she could be healed like Nick. As we prayed for her she began to gently shake and weep. When asked what she was experiencing she said, "I feel warm all over, especially my lower back." When we finished we asked her if she still felt pain. She began moving her hips, swiviling them around and around. As she did she began to smile and said she felt no pain. I asked her to jump and see if she had any pain then. She didn't. Then I told her to run to the back of the room and back. She did and once again felt no pain. Thank you, Lord!

Knee Instantly Healed

During a recent basketball tournament, Marcus was dribbling around the perimeter when he was blocked out of bounds by an opposing player. All Marcus remembers is the shooting pain that went through his knee as he lay on the sidelines, just out of bounds. The coach and the trainer came to assist. His mother, however, had a better plan. She came down out of the crowd, laid hands on her son's knee, commanded his knee to be healed, and it was! The pain was completely gone. Marcus got up and tested the knee. As the coach and the trainer stood by stunned, Marcus asked to go back in the game. After a brief time out, Marcus was back on the court. Way to go, Mom! Thank you, Lord!

Cancer Healed

Paula was diagnosed with skin cancer on her upper lip. The doctors took a biopsy to confirm their diagnosis. She was then scheduled for surgery where she would need to have a large portion of her upper lip removed to make sure all the cancer was taken. She was devastated. She came to church on Sunday, Nov. 5th and received prayer for healing of the cancer believing the Lord would heal her. As she received prayer she felt a "tingling" in the area of her lip where the cancer was identified. As the power of God moved upon her body, she no longer could stand and ended up on the floor as the Lord ministered to her. When she got up she knew in her spirit she had been healed. She continued to pray and stand firm in the word of God until the day of her scheduled surgery.

When the day of her surgery arrived she declared to the doctor that she was cancer-free. She asked if they could do a biopsy to check what she knew to be true. The doctor took a biopsy and within minutes came back into the room in disbelief declaring that Paula was cancer-free! The doctor couldn't explain why the cancer was no longer there. He said that was impossible. But we know that with God, all things are possible! Praise God for His kindness!!

Sprained Wrist Healed:

"I had fallen in my back yard and severly sprained my right wrist and was on pain medication and wearing a wrist brace. One friday night as I was praying during service, Pastor Cory was told by someone sitting in the front row that they were experiencing pain in their right wrist and sensed the Lord saying they should pray for the person with that pain. I went forward and she prayed for me, the pain left my wrist and I had total flexibility in it. It was awesome. God is good all the time and all the time God is good."

Eye Disease Cured and Skin Tag Removed:

"Some time ago I scheduled an eye exam. I was diagnosed with an eye disease that if the Lord did not intervene, would blind me. After recieving prayer, I went to an eye specialist and he found no problem and told me to return in a few years for a re-check. Some time later a "skin tag" developed on that same eye. I again recieved prayer at the church and refused to accept that this problem was from God. Later I had a dream that the Lord himself performed eye surgery and when I woke up...the "skin tag" fell off."
