Beginning October 16, 2011, LifeWay will begin Bible Studies For A Firm Foundation. This study is based on the work of Bob Weiner of Youth Now.

Fire In The Desert School Of Ministry

LifeWay World Outreach Center will begin Module II of the Fire in the Desert School of Ministry May 6th. Based on a deep conviction that we must equip those who are called to reap the harvest and a passion to grow deeply into the things of God, the School was released to begin offering classes in a modular format. The curriculum is based on a number of unique offerings including; Bethel’s Supernatural School of Ministry, Morningstar’s training in the prophetic through first hand experience through the instructor, discipleship through intimacy with Christ, special guest speakers, and impartation to impact the world for His Kingdom.

Fire In The Desert

The name was given during a time of uniquely focusing on God through a time of prayer. Pastor Cory McClure earnestly waited for the Lord’s timing as to when to release this school in the Phoenix East Valley. Being strongly encouraged that this is the time for this to begin, the first Module of classes will start on March 4th, 2011 with high anticipation of those God is calling to launch this long awaited purpose of heaven.

Growing As A Believer Through Fire In The Desert

Fire In The Desert is for those who are completely committed to growing into the fullness of God for their lives and have an unquenchable thirst for God. The school will include a great deal of opportunity to receive personal ministry and impartation however this is not designed with the extremely broken or wounded believer. We offer personal ministry for seasons of healing through LifeWay WOC services, and local ministries that are uniquely dedicated to deep inner healing.

Come go deeper into God for a time of expansion and fulfillment of personal destiny through the Fire In The Desert School of Ministry.

Need a Miracle?

Miracles are funny things. They just sort of … appear. Weird, I know. Have you ever given much thought to miracles (other than the fact you could REALLY use one right now). Do you know what a miracle is, really. The bible talks about miracles using a variety of terms such as ‘sign’ – which is a miracle that points to a deeper revelation. Another word for miracle is ‘wonder’ – which emphasizes the effect of the miracle, causing either awe and/or terror. (I prefer the awe, don’t you) Anyway, there is another word describing miracle an it’s the word ‘work’ – pointing to the presence of God in history, acting for mankind. Finally, the New Testament uses the word ‘power’ – emphasizing God’s acting in strength. All these words describe the word ‘miracle.’

The Israelites of the Old Testament recognized God as the Creator and sustainer of all life. Thus they had an understanding that if God wanted to do a miracle He was not only well able, but had every right to be … Him! Thus, to the Israelites, God’s miracles were not so much a proof of His existence as much as they were a revelation of the faithfulness of His covenant love. When He spoke from a burning bush, brought His people out from the land of bondage (with all the $$$$), parted the Red Sea, provided water from a rock (twice!), manna from Heaven, and enough doves to make one ill, He demonstrated His character to His people, revealing His saving love as well as His holy justice. Psalm 89:14 declares,

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne.”

Miracles are based in God’s character of righteousness and justice. A more modern way of saying this is miracles are God’s calling card. Miracles often manifest for the sole purpose of letting the people know that 1) His kingdom is a present reality, 2) His love is never-ending, and 3) He cares about His creation at all times. Miracles, signs, wonders, works, power all demonstrate His caring love for His kids. So if you need a miracle today all you have to do is … ask.

Feel the Fire

Just wanted to thank all those who braved the heat, both outside and inside, to come out to the official dedication of LifeWay’s new home. Special thanks to Sunny for bringing her drum and drumming songs of worship and praise while singing songs of thanks to the Lord for His provision and glory. The interior of the space registered 97 degrees (slightly better than the outside air temperature at 107). It reminded me of the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego when they were tossed into the furnace. While their faith was being tried God was showing Himself faithful, even to the extent of presenting Himself in the midst of fire. Though my flesh wanted to leave my spirit was saying, “stick around and feel the fire.” I think it was a sign to us that if we are willing to stand in the fire He is willing to come along side us and help us while demonstrating His greatness with miracles, signs and wonders. Yea, verily!!

The Word

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”

Most of us have found “the way” to Jesus through our salvation experience and have entered into “the truth” of His word, but how many of us have totally committed ourselves to Him being “the life” in us? Positionally we all believe that Jesus lives in us via the Holy Spirit. However, are we living that truth on a daily basis. Does our character and values reflect His presence inside us. Is there evidence of His living water flowing out of us. If someone were to engage in conversation with you what evidence would they point to as a clear indication of “the life” living inside you.

“The way” speaks of our path to Jesus. “The truth” speaks of us coming into an understanding of His teaching and precepts. But “the life” speaks of an intimate, personal, transformational relationship where we are no longer our own, we become like Him reflecting His love wherever we go. What are you reflecting to others. Is it the love and life of Christ or something else. He so desires for all of us to come into a deeper relational experience with Him where His love permeates and transforms our lives every day. As we allow His love to shine through us then we are truly living “the life” he destined for us to live.
